Our Deputy Permanent Secretary

Mrs. Cherryl-Ann Solomon is a Career Public Servant with over 34 years of Services. However, prior to her assignment at the Ministry of Public Utilities she was assigned to the Ministry of Youth Development and National Service (MYDNS) in a similar capacity.

Prior to her assignment at Ministry of Youth Development and National Service, she held the position of Administrator at the Division of Health, Wellness and Social Protection at the Tobago House of Assembly (THA).

Mrs. Solomon has spent the majority of her career at the THA serving as Administrator at 6 Divisions and Project Analyst, among other assignments. She has also worked as a New-Systems  Facilitator at the Ministry and Public Administration and as a Presiding Officer at the Elections and Boundaries Commission.

Deputy Permanent Secretary Solomon holds a Certificate in Public Administration; a Bachelor of Science in Management and an International Masters of Business Administration with a specialization in Finance. She has a track record of Community Involvement, which includes serving on multiple committees and being a member of various clubs and groups. Overall, Mrs. Solomon’s main objectives are to contribute to the development of Trinidad and Tobago and by extension the world and inspire others to grasp opportunities for growth and development.

At the Ministry of Public Utilities Mrs. Cherryl-Ann Solomon is specifically responsible for providing administrative oversight to:

  • Corporate Communication Unit
  • Customer Services Unit
  • Human Resource Management – Operations Unit
  • Information and Technology Unit
  • Government Electrical Inspectorate Division
  • Meteorological Services Division

Additionally Mrs. Solomon is a member of the Project Coordinating Team for the IDB Loan preparation at the Ministry.
