With over 30 years’ experience in development planning, Beverly Khan is currently the Deputy Permanent Secretary (Ag.) in the Ministry of Public Utilities.  Prior to her assignment to the Ministry, she served in various capacities at the Ministries of Planning and Development and Finance and at the Office of the Prime Minister.

She has been involved in the formulation of national development plans for Trinidad and Tobago since 1990 and was the lead officer in the Ministry of Planning and Development for the preparation of the Vision 2020 National Strategic Plan.  She led the establishment of the Vision 2020 Programme Management Office in 2007 and served as its first Director.

She has extensive experience working with the Inter-American Development Bank, the Organisation of American States and the Commonwealth Secretariat.  She served as Counsellor in the Office of the Executive Director of the IDB, as General Coordinator for the VIII Americas Competitiveness Forum (ACF) in 2014 as well as Deputy National Coordinator for 5th Summit of the Americas and the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in 2009.

She also served as a Public Sector Director on the Board of the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago from 2011 to 2014. Most recently, she served as the Chairperson of the Cabinet Appointed Committee to develop an Energy Conservation and Energy Efficiency Policy and Action Plan for Trinidad and Tobago and on the Secretariat for the Roadmap for Recovery Committee.

Ms. Khan holds a BSc in Economics from the University of the West Indies, an MA in Applied Economics from the Johns Hopkins University in Maryland and is a certified PMP.
